At this site, I saw a person who was told by the main contractor to die. This hotel is also used by people from overseas. I want people overseas to know this too. An unusual way of working in the Japanese construction industry. Our Japan, which is already vain, has no self-purification. We will also write it in English.

127 hours of overtime per month – suicide due to overwork
Akapuri ruins construction site bereaved family files for industrial compensation
A man (age 52 at the time) was working long hours as a site manager for a company that received orders for kitchen equipment for construction work such as Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho, a commercial facility being built on the site of the former Akasaka Prince Hotel. On the 20th, the bereaved family filed an application for workers’ compensation at the Shibuya Labor Standards Inspection Office, alleging that he committed suicide due to overwork in May 2016.
According to his lawyer’s announcement, he worked 127 hours and 35 minutes of overtime one month before he became ill, and 117 hours and 45 minutes two months ago. He is said to have worked 19 consecutive days and many late nights right before he became ill.
It was pointed out that there was also daily harassment from site personnel at the main contractor, Kajima Construction. He says that on the day he committed suicide, he received an email saying, “Why are you not available? I’ve called you many times, please call me back.”
